House N – renewed

Starting from a reproduction of the original House N, I developed a house that could combine straight lines of Sou Fujimoto with soft and curved lines. There is a great attention on the choice of every plant. The main concept of this house is having a natural contact with nature, where the building and natural elements flow softly one into the other.

Starting from a picture of the House N of Sou Fujimoto, I created a model to make a picture of it from the same view point. Starting from the model I made, which was identic to the original house in a scale 1:20, I developed a project to complete the house in my own way.

The original part was characterized by straight angles, so to create a contrast I decided to make the new part with curved lines. The main feature is a single curved wall that flows inside the house creating different spaces. Starting from the original part, the curve crates a livingroom, then a corridor, which gives the access to the bathroom, and at last the bedroom. This curve is an alternation of concrete and huge curved glasses.

This kind of windows allows the sun to enlight the whole house, and most of all they allow to see from one side of the house to the other side, from the livingroom to the bedroom. The bathroom has a particular feature that makes it unique: from the shower there is a door that leads to the central pool. The pool has three steps that allow to sit confortably. Over the pool there is no roof, so the sun can enter directly. From all the spaces water and nature can be seen. In the livingroom, there is a space dedicated to the table for lunch, and a place where to rest that combines the japanese concept of the tatami, to the occidental concept of low couch.
